Winnisquam, Opechee, Winnipesaukee Trail (WOW Trail)

Mission: To promote, design, build and maintain a paved multi-use recreational trail through the city of Laconia, along side the active railroad bed. The WOW Trail will connect the Laconia communities of Weirs Beach and Lakeport with the Downtown via a safe and convenient passageway, while providing outstanding scenic and recreation opportunities.

Construction of the first phase of the trail began in September 2009, and the first mile should be paved and ready for use in the spring of 2010.

Jim Zimmermann, the founder of Lakes Region Bicycling is also on the Board of Directors for the WOW Trail and his company, Techra LLC, donated its services to create and host the WOW Trail web site. Visit the WOW Trail site for more information on the trail:
